I had really hoped this book would encourage children to save money, however it encouraged them to spend their money. with that being said, my child did like reading the book and I was happy for that.
This was a great book. We had to read it as a summer book between K and first grades. it had such a great story to it. Positive lasting impression.
Read this book to my children 20 years ago and it will always be a book they will remember. Bought one for a friend and their child so they too can have wonderful memories. Good story and lesson in giving to one another.
The illustrations are beautiful. The author wrote in rhyme which the children enjoyed, also like the pattern of counting down pennies each time Benny purchased something.This is a really great book for teachers who want to start talking about money.
